Manufactura de Tapeçarias de Portalegre, founded in 1946, is exclusively dedicated to the production of decorative wall tapestries of art, using its own technique, entirely manual, "the Portalegre weave". The materials used are pure wool and cotton.
The Tapestry of Portalegre is a work of art that results from a unique partnership between the artist, the draughtswoman, and the weavers. Always starting from an original painting, it is its transposition to another support, revealing another dimension of that work. Portalegre Tapestries besides being works of art also create comfort due to their properties as sound and temperature isolation.

The ceramicist Beatriz Horta Correia was invited to present some of her latest creations named Still Life, in dialogue with the Tapestries. These works will be displayed on a wooden table created specially for the event by the designer João Maria Bernardino from the Maria 16 atelier.
