Oficina Marques is a Lisbon based atelier run by Gezo and José that works mainly with wood and ceramics, including repurposed material like wine boxes, drawers, or doors.
Oficina Marques is located in the eclectic and creative Bairro Alto in Lisbon, in the emblematic Interpress building that was once a newspaper printing-house. The project is based on two complementary areas: creation (Studio) and exhibition (Gallery and Store). It is a perfect combination of artist studio and gallery and shop where you can access the artists' original works and a wide range of other curious products.
"We collect, store and accumulate so that our workshop is like a large waiting room where pieces of wood, pottery, furniture and old dolls await a new life and story." Working with "things that have already been" allows them to exercise a new way to look at objects; these are like skeletons that will eventually win new muscles, new tendons, a new skin and new life.
