Manufactured in northern Portugal, each Branca piece is created by combining the handcrafting skills of a select group of wood production experts with the latest digital production tools. Marco Sousa Santos, its artistic director, has been working in several areas of Design. Since 1995, as founder and director of Proto design and Experimenta Design, he has created several Design projects and collections with national and foreign authors, contributing to the new “Vision” on Design culture in Portugal. As a Designer, Marco Sousa Santos is firmly rooted in a generation of designers who have built a strong international reputation for contemporary Portuguese Design. His projects, collections and experiments have been presented and exhibited in several leading institutions alongside some of the most prestigious designers in the world.
