Prime Matter, gallery and project room, celebrates its first anniversary with the presentation of 'Terra Mater’.
Following the thematic showcases of expressions in wood with ‘Xylos', glass with 'Di Vetro', and marble with 'Florista Marmoris’, Prime Matter embarks on the journey to explore the deepest layers of our existence: the earth’s molten core. With works in lava stone, clay and ceramics by Emmanuel Babled and Cecile Mestelan, and paintings by Jean-Baptiste Des Gachons, 'Terra Matter' is an immersive exhibition curated by Marta Fróis in collaboration with Stefano Riva.
Prime Matter invites viewers to contemplate the indomitable nature of our planet, the delicate balance between human manifestation and Earth's power, and the eternal search for meaning in the face of uncontrollable forces. As the artists and designer converge their creative energies, they craft an evocative tableau that not only evokes discovery through experimentation but also celebrates the fragility and resilience inherent in the trial-and-error life routine.
